The Story of Galway is a stunning tribute to Irish heritage, this handcrafted collection was designed & handcrafted by our Goldsmith Robert Blacoe over 30 years ago in Galway and celebrates the city’s rich Celtic history. Each piece features iconic symbols that capture the spirit, traditions, and landmarks of Galway.

The Spanish Arch, built in 1584, welcomed travelers safely to shore and was a beacon for visitors from distant lands, including Christopher Columbus.
The Galway Hooker is a traditional fishing boat unique to the region. Its distinctive silhouette signaled the arrival of supplies for the Aran Islands, carried in by the Atlantic winds.
The Leaping Salmon represents both the myths of ancient Ireland and the abundance of the rivers and seas that sustained Galway’s people and now attract anglers from around the world.
The Horse reflects Galway’s deep equestrian roots. The region is known for its horses and ponies, and the famous Galway Races have drawn crowds to Ballybrit Racecourse every summer for over a century.
The Coat of Arms honours the fourteen tribes who once governed the city and helped shape Galway’s rich cultural legacy.
The Waves symbolise the Wild Atlantic Way, as well as the beautiful beaches and rolling waves found all across Galway.
The Claddagh, with its iconic hands, heart, and crown, is a symbol of love, loyalty, and friendship. Created in Galway by Richard Joyce, the Claddagh Ring remains a cherished emblem of the city and is still handcrafted by our goldsmith at Blacoe Jewellers in the Heart of Galway
