The Story of Galway is a stunning tribute to Irish heritage, this handcrafted collection was designed & handcrafted by our Goldsmith Robert Blacoe over 30 years ago in Galway and celebrates the city’s rich Celtic history. Each piece features iconic symbols that capture the spirit, traditions, and landmarks of Galway.

The 7 icons:

The Spanish Arch
Dating back to 1584, it served as a welcoming landmark for seafarers. Most famously Christopher Columbus, signalling the end of a safe journey.

The Galway Hooker
A traditional fishing boat unique to Galway, once eagerly awaited by the Aran Islanders as it brought vital supplies across strong Atlantic winds.

The Leaping Salmon
Symbolising both mythological Ireland and the natural bounty of Galway’s rivers and seas, it reflects a rich tradition of fishing that continues to attract anglers worldwide.

The Horse
Representing Galway’s deep equestrian roots, from the renowned Connemara ponies to the famous Galway Races held annually at Ballybrit for over a century.

Reflecting the legacy of one of the original fourteen tribes who governed Galway over 500 years ago.
